im basically trying to change the systems in which i work. below, knitting the cloth, then punching the holes then lacing the garment together- its a way to create garments without sewing cloth. Also working on a leather jacket using a similar system- below. - i experimented with safety pins also, but decided to stick with the eyelets.

ok when i was london i saw these shoes, and i wanted them so badly, however- it was at a point when i had absolutely no money and the future was looking bleak. so i left them. it was my main regret. the store that i found them in was the store that johnny rotten bought his first pair of creepers from, amongst other awesome people like, Viv West and Malcolm Mclaren. Not going to lie, i may have online ordered them.

currently drinking milo and peeling beetroot and my hands are all stained. i love it.

anyway this is just some stuff that i have completed or am working on, the pants i just made recently for myself and for grace, and made them to sell at a market stall i had with laura a couple of weekends ago. which was very successful might i add, i made 250 dollars, which is a good effort for me. however, people only bought all my hideous old stuff and no one even looked twice at the garments i had slaved over [the night before].

what do they say? find your niche. and work with that.

whats my niche? anyway- jacket and pants i designed and made, plus the skirt- dont know if you can see it. and there are some shots of my messy studio. i just thought id include those for inspiration to clean it.

jacket is made of beautiful lamb skin and i special ordered the colour, its padded out in the areas of the essential organs, because i wanted to create something that would increase my chances of survival in the canadian winter hahaha also its my first experience with leather which is why its a bit dodge but i'm going to get better.

i'm still cringing about this one moment from the other night. i bumped into one of the babes from di$count, www.discountuniverse.com.au<------ they are very cool,.. you get the vibe. anyway, i was a drunken scraggy scrag- i cant remember what i said but i know it was more a drunken fan-club ramble, than actually talking to her on some kind of normal human level. haha oh well who cares?, she probably doesn't.

but you know i've been doing that a lot lately... making an absolute fool of myself when drunk, i think its the switch from beer to vodka or just a boredom so deep that my subconscious is creating unnecessary drama. but nevertheless vodka makes me mental. Eg's include getting in fights, being called a cunt and a prostitute, admissions from deep down, over-familiarity and intimacy where inappropriate, ... i know it just sounds like normal drunk, but this is not normal for me.

...beer makes me mellow. back to beer.

i've been digging things up. as you know, i'm taking this year to try to really find what i want to focus on in fourth year. anyway this is some more canadian work, more art direction for photographY inspiration. i love the pictures... somehow my computer is fucking up and i cant resize images so apologies for the hideosity of this post.

LANDSCAPE images cause more boredom than joy, im aware. However i couldnt help but notice a growing theme throughout my photos of europe. i just feel like i have seen some of the most beautiful places on earth and just want to share them. and after going to the BILL HENSON opening with laura tonight, i have regained my faith in photographs and also and my sick fascination with disturbia. bill henson was incredible, there was something so serene about the images, a perfect collection, nudes portrayed as youthful and victimised at the same time as beautiful and voyeuristic, with the additional pieces, of two landscape images and two gallery interiors which i didnt really understand but i guess portrayed bill hensons idea of classic art.

after taking a super crazy turn, ive [regrettably] decided to take this year off my wonderful, life distracting and incredibly tedious but excitingly stressful course... ive decided i have nothing better to do than keep my blog up to date. thanks for putting up with one last tribute to my homes in canada- im going to summarise my time there [id say possibly the happiest and plumpest ive ever been, thank you north america.]

Apart from the language barriers and the fact that I am homeless and have been sleeping on a concrete floor, I absolutely Love it here. You walk out onto the street and you make friends. I feel like because i came from Melbourne to Brooklyn to Toronto ive been able to just slip in perfectly without much hassle.
Who needs comfort, when you have a floor and a backpack.
But I’m actually really missing home at the moment when I stop thinking about how much I love it here. Because im hungover and nostalgically looking through my pictures of my last night in Melbourne, when my amazing friends all came over and hung out with me. It was really nice, I guess I should be saying I love you because you’re the only ones that actually read my blog.

i wandered through the city like a delirious hysterical crazy person. but it was beautiful none the less. the jetlag was so extreme that i didnt know what was happening... waking up at ridiculous hours like 8am, and going to bed at 11pm. i was a new person. luckily that wore off and im back to my bed at 5am wake up at 2pm deal.

Alright, so I haven’t posted in ages.

I put it down to the fact that I’ve been to busy with life [and also because my housemate doesn’t have wifi yet. and yes, it is killing me. Im sitting in Starbucks at the moment using their wifi and I’ve been here a really long time, partly because their wifi is so goddddammmn slow (im frustrated)]

I went to New York and now I’m in Toronto, which here is pronounced, “chruno”

So I’m now reminiscing. New York was, hmmm, I don’t really know the word. Something like.. amazing, incredible and beautiful. My intense jetlag couldn’t even get me down. 14hours difference. And my flight – ooh god- I forgot to tell them i was a vegetarian, so I didn’t eat for about 30 hours. Or sleep, because I was in the middle seat next to two huge hippo people who couldn’t help but overflow over the armrests. Shudders. I might just stay here based on the fact that I never, ever want to do that flight again.

I didn’t do hardly enough in New York but it was still amazing. Even when I was hungover, atleast I was hungover in new york, but I really want to go back for my birthday… because I’ll be legal. Which will make my time significantly more enjoyable. I’ll go back and see more and never leave.. because there wouldn’t be enough time in my life to explore.

i always feel really weird after assessment. like there's a weird quietness in my head. i was so highly strung. i still am though, i cant relax yet, i'm still feeling really weird. i'm probably going to get the flu, thats what usually happens after assessment.
assessment went quite well i think they appreciated the work and stuff. Mats said, "im interested to see what comes from your work in the future" and that i clearly design from my heart but he doesnt know if Cornel [my client] would wear it.

I tried to argue my case by saying that Cornel appreciates things with a story and things with personal sentiment and if i could communicate how much this whole project meant to me that maybe he would be able to break free of his clothing boundaries.

but i did design 'from my heart' anyway so i'm quite happy, whatever happens.

apparently this girl is finnish/french and thats what i want to be. im going to go to finland and get knocked up by a french man.
its been a long time since ive posted anything. i guess i was sort of bitter about the whole project in the end. the feedback we received was a little lacking. and although Mats has a lack of emotional connection with the word 'fail', it seemed to come up a hell of a lot. i believe that nothing about the project was a failure because we succeeded in creating a message that unwanted things and garments can be reconstituted and be reborn, so to not be wasted. he believed many people failed in acheiving the personailty part of the project because our personalities wouldnt wear our final garments. BUT i believe that if the personalities had more of an input in the process and had watched passion and excitement behind them, that would be different. anyway apparently the exhibition is up, i might go and visit it tomorrow and take some shots. oh the other thing is that he refused to use any of our ideas that didnt use the swensk fabrics. hmmmmm, i guess so not representing our whole project but moreso their own brand. i dont know.. ?

ok with the fear of assessment and imminent death approaching, ive got myself a job, written several songs, made a vestpack and completed the pant. ? i think i also died somewhere in there. well, i have been in mental town for a while now working on this project for concepts of sustainability. i have almost finished my first garment- which is weird for me because i cant remember a time before the garment... more explanation on why it took so long and what its about is coming. im tired right now.

the fashion fourth year fundraiser was double denim themed. i may have gotten a little outrageous with a lot of people i half know. but it was great fun. the dancefloor just looked like a moving blue sea of denim. i wish more people had gone all out, but there were some good outfits there. we ended up getting kicked out of the bar at 1, dancing and singing with dan playing the piano accordian. and a wild bunch of double denim'd fashion students roaring down the alleyway. a few other things on the agenda. ive been wearing tops as pants. im into it, i think we could possibly eliminate the need for pants in the future. im still working on it. give me time. and i cant be bothered blurring my face anymore, it was just so people werent like, eugh shes so self obsessed look at all these pictures of her face. im over it.

my dad has been helping make this giant sculpture of a banging fist, for tonights rave party at the docklands. he insisted i come check out the space.

its awesome. there were a bunch of the original ravers sitting around painting giant rubix cubes and shapes of love and happiness. they were all camping in the giant space, in the back of their cars and in swags on the back of their utes. its the kinda thing i want to be doing if im single and alone at the age of 35, missing my crazy youth.

im starting to get worried about the priorities of this blog- it was meant to be fashion oriented as in uni work, inspirations and fash bashes but its turned into a site of raging hormones and drunken adventures. look its easter, after this it will go back to fash.

been out drinking again. funny story so i went out for dinner with some dear friends and after i was meant to go to predrinks in gore st. so i waited for a tram for about an hour and a half. i made some friends- a guy with a red streak in his hair and his photographically inspired friend, a strange young girl and a old woman trying to get to midnight mass [telling us of gods strange challenges,-look lady i dont think waiting at the tram stop for hours is really beneficial to the rest of the planet so god really should set his priorities straight.]

anyway another hour later and my tram finally came. as it was parking i get a call from my friend who was at the predrinks saying they were coming into the city so i should just wait.

i asked my tram friends to get a beer with me, and ended up partying the night away with one.

made this maroon velvet stretchy dress for the evening.

and i didnt trim the thread.

met this magician on my journey of trying to catch a tram. he was brilliant.

i didnt take enough photos. but i took some and that matters. so first we went to complex geometries preview and look, i was into it- just not so into the prices. then we proceeded to the spook live shoot at PHM but-ahem-missed it and just saw the band and got the drank the dregs. it was a fun night all in all.

Fat presents complex geometries was great. - free booze ciders, peronis and wine so of course we obliged there is just something about free booze that makes people feel like its rude to not get wasted. its fine with me.

all i have to say is i went op shopping the other day and found this full on biker set: jacket and pants in the nicest leather, so soft and worn. the price they put on it was. um. two hundred and fifty dollars. now i know thats not much in the scheme of things: op shops are so expensive and crap these days. its because people are selling their shit instead of giving it to charity and everyone just buys crap anyway so then its not even worth giving to charity because its probably worn out or pilling or crap. so op shops have to up the prices of any good stuff they get. which i get. its just sad. i used to find some great stuff but these days.. nothing. i need to go to tasmania apparently. lets all go. this wasnt intended on being a whine. wine. im going to go get some wine.

last night after penthouse mouse, these guys in the taxi next to ours asked us to come to their penthouse party, we dismissed them and continued our journey to roxanne [which we then didnt enter because of the hideous entry fee of 20 dollars.] i regret this decision.

anyway penthouse mouse was fun. i prefered observing the people who were there to see the clothes than the actual runway. it was full of very very commercial stuff i would compare to a mix between quicksilver and general pants. but everyone who was there was quite spectacular.

i didnt take many shots because i was too busy getting wasted. but heres a little slice.

i feel bad because a friend of mine is looking for some man-jewellery and i couldnt help him out before my surg and now im immobilized so i thought i'd do a post on man jewellery to give him something to think about. i am not articulate because i am on many many painkillers. so cut me some slack.

this jewellery brand, 'does not equal' [click] is awesome for solid steel looking jewellery. its really cool stuff for boys and girls. and below that is iggy and lou lou ceramics, which is mainly girly looking stuff but i like that its ceramic so i chose the most manly peices to show and you can swap the chains around, so a black metal chain would probs look more manly than a silver chain..., i have the skull and camera piece which i havent shown.

alpha 60- these are really cool, they look ceramic also and they are really creepy. i like.

i've been wanting to do a scout of all the sex shops around my area for ages, to look for amazing leatherwear and fetishwear and just amazing stuff that you cant find anywhere else. this stuff is so awesome i want to buy it all, not for sex purposes but for wearing in everyday life. it's awesome and amazing. and very eye opening...

this movie is meant to be some murder mystery, i havent seen it yet, but they used all kids from the area to act in it. they're just beautiful little skater boys wearing amazing hats and pants. from oyster ages ago- but i thought id show because i thought it was brilliant.

i thought id do an outfit post? i made the above jacket and then dyed it, just using dylon then im just wearing a long black t-shirt with another black sheer t-shirt, shibori'd by alex worn as a skirt and tied around my waist. then just socks and boots. pretty boring really.

i did this shoot for my tailoring class. i just thought id show. the jackets made from a wool blend and has square shoulders, symmetrical twin jet pockets and cuff vents with 5 buttons. its unisex. i dont no what else to say about it. but i made it in a calico and then dyed it later on and that looked a bit cooler. i'll post a photo. my bro is the model and i took the photos in an old warehouse in richmond with a spotlight. ive also been meaning to post my stretchwear stuff, so ill do that soon...
